1643 Women receive Backyard Poultry and Cash grant to rebuild their Instrastructes and start small enterprises
UC Kolachi and Baledai were badly hit by floods 2010 at Mehar and completely destroyed agriculture, infrastructure and houses. People live in miserable conditions. DEC-II project initiatives bring new hopes and economic opportunities to their lives.
With support of Care International in Pakistan under DEC-II project grant, AHD distributed poultry items among 400 women at Mehar, District Dadu. With this support each household received 15 hens, 1 month feed and related utencils. Beneficiary families are believed to improve their food security by consuming their eggs and selling them to nearby markets.

DEC-II project is designed to support flood
affected community of UC Kolachi of Tehsil Mehar, District Dadu. This is a livelihood
support initiatives of Care International with ECHO funding. With this project,
most vulnerable women were targeted for grants in selected villages where 732
women HH improved their livelihood by working at their homes repairs. With this
support 41 villages were repaired/reconstructed by women during 2 months CFW
activities.
500 women were given cash grant to initiate micro-business activities at their villages same area. This project majorly focused on most vulnerable women at villages. From among them 732 vulnerable women were also provided grant in cash to repair their household inftrastructures like kitchnes, latrines, boundary wall, raised platform, and plantation at home.
